Λάμψη μίας εποχής που έφυγε ανεπιστρεπτί.

Οι Riot των μέσων της δεκαετίας του '90, έως περίπου το 2006, με τον Mike DiMeo στο μικρόφωνο, αποτελούν μια μπάντα που μας έδωσε πάρα πολλές δισκογραφικές στιγμές για να αναπολούμε. Στο ζωντανά ηχογραφημένο άλμπουμ αυτό, τους βλέπουμε στη φωτογραφία του εξωφύλλου, μαζί με την ψυχή και ιδρυτικό μέλος του σχήματος, τον κιθαρίστα Mark Reale (RIP). Το περιεχόμενο είναι πραγματικά μια μοναδική συλλογή κομματιών, κυρίως της εποχής εκείνης, αν και πιο παλιές εποχές του μυθικού αυτού συγκροτήματος βρίσκονται στα άλμπουμ Thundersteel, Bloodstreets, Warrior και Outlaw. Η ηχογράφηση αποτελεί πραγματικά παράδειγμα για σεμινάριο (στην πρόσφατη τρομερή επανέκδοση υπάρχει και το ακόμη πιο φοβερό DVD, που κρύβει τη μαγεία εκείνης της εποχής σε όλη της τη λάμψη — για να παίξω λίγο με τον τίτλο). Το ταξίδι στο παρελθόν γίνεται μονόδρομος ακούγοντας αυτό το άλμπουμ. Οι μνήμες από την εμφάνισή τους στο Ρόδον Live, στην Αθήνα, κατά την ίδια περιοδεία τότε, ζωντανεύουν ξανά.

The Gleam of an Era Gone Forever

The Riot of the mid-'90s through around 2006, with Mike DiMeo on vocals, is a band that gifted us with countless memorable recordings to cherish. In this live-recorded album, we see them on the cover photo, alongside the soul and founding member of the band, guitarist Mark Reale (RIP). The content is truly a unique collection of tracks, mostly from that era, though earlier times of this legendary band are captured in albums like Thundersteel, Bloodstreets, Warrior, and Outlaw. The recording is genuinely a masterclass — and in the recent incredible reissue, there's also an even more fantastic DVD that captures the magic of that period in all its glory (just playing a bit with the title). The journey into the past becomes a one-way street when listening to this album. Memories of their performance at Rodon Live in Athens, during the same tour back then, come alive once more.
