Μας γυρνούν στη χρυσή δεκαετία του '80 οι τέσσερις (εδώ) Σουηδοί με το ντεμπούτο άλμπουμ τους και, για πολλούς (πρωτοδισκάκηδες), ίσως το καλύτερο έργο τους. Γρήγορο (Speed) και δυναμικό (Power) μέταλλο (Metal), σαν να μην είχαν περάσει τότε ούτε είκοσι χρόνια. Τώρα κάποιοι θα πουν ότι επαναλαμβάνεται η ίδια ιστορία, ότι υπάρχει επανάληψη κ.τ.λ. Όχι. Δεν πρόκειται για στείρα επανάληψη της κλασικής heavy metal εποχής. Ο ήχος τους παίρνει εφαλτήριο από τότε, αλλά συνθετικά και ως παραγωγή είναι παιδί του 21ου αιώνα.

 

Οπότε, για όσες και όσους αρέσκονται στον ήχο των Anvil, Heavy Load, Jag Panzer, Metal Church, Stormwitch, Accept, καθώς και Europe του Wings of Tomorrow, αλλά και Helloween μέχρι το πολύ το δεύτερο Keeper, εδώ θα βρείτε αυτό που θέλει η μεταλλική σας καρδιά. 

Στα εννέα κομμάτια: Black Angel, Mistress From Hell, Into the Night, Speed Queen, On the Loose, City Lights, Scream of the Savage, Curse the Light και Evil Attacker, κανένα δεν ξεχωρίζει πάνω από το άλλο, αφού μιλάμε για έναν κορυφαίο δίσκο.

Forward to the Past. These four Swedes take us back to the golden decade of the '80s with their debut album—considered by many first-time listeners to be perhaps their finest work. It's fast (Speed) and fierce (Power) metal, as if not even twenty years had passed since that era. Some might say it's the same story all over again, just repetition. But no—this isn't a sterile rehash of the classic heavy metal age. Their sound launches from that foundation, but in terms of composition and production, it's unmistakably a child of the 21st century.
