SECOND TO SUN – Three Fairy Tales EP

SECOND TO SUN is a modern
metal band from Russia and as the title of their EP suggests, here you will
have the chance to listen to 3 of their compositions. Usually, I am not into
the modern metal bands, because they try to be as noisy as they can and they
have only grooves from down tuned guitars that from a point on become repetitive
and boring. SECOND TO SUND though is a really different kind of band that no
one can easily tag. They of course have the down tuned guitars and the riffs,
but then they have some strange melodic spacey keyboard parts and even folk
metal influences like in the amazing composition entitled “Meramaa”. They also
use some black metal blast beats that make their sound even more aggressive.
Actually this is the magic of SECOND TO SUN the way they manage to sound
melodic while playing extreme metal music. I know that I am not an expert to
this kind of music, but I think that SECOND TO SUN are so good that expand the
boundaries of modern metal and I think everyone with an open mind will
appreciate them.
