The cover of the new EP of these very talented guys from Finland has a strong reference to the legendary band LED ZEPPELIN. This doesn’t come as a surprise if you have followed the band so far or you have read some of the presentations that I wrote here for their previous releases. This band in my opinion has this magical gift to sound like a group that comes straight from the 70’s and still give to their compositions this fresh and modern touch. In a few words they manage to create songs that can move both old school rockers and younger ones.

In their new EP the band offer us 4 compositions of pure 70’s hard rock. Now as for their influences, they might have the zeppelin on the cover, but in my opinion their compositions have references to bands like BLUE OYSTER CULT, URIAH HEEP, DEEP PURPLE and THIN LIZZY. I think the strong URIA HEEP and DEEP PURPLE feeling is because of the extensive use of the hammond in their songs which is just fine for me.

There are not so many bands that play 70’s hard rock out there, but from the few that exist CONCRETE SWINE are one of the most interesting groups because they have their own personality and in their new EP offer us the most mature and yet their best compositions so far. Songs like “Way High Tsar” are instant classics. Hard rockers don’t you even dare ignore this release.
