NIGHT LEGION – Night Legion Review

NIGHT LEGION – Night Legion

Massacre Records

NIGHT LEGION is another band of the great and well known Australian guitarist Stu Marshall (who did a great work with bands like DUNGEON and especially DEATH DEALER) surrounded by musicians that are experienced and were members of such bands like DARKER HALF.

For all of us that have followed the musical journey of Stu from the start until now it is obvious that JUDAS PRIEST are a major influence to him. So in the debut album of NIGHT LEGION you will find a strong JUDAS PRIEST feeling in their sound blended, though, with melodies close to the European power metal sound and with some MANOWAR references too especially in the song “Titan” on which Ross the Boss does a guest appearance with a solo and according to me is one of the best songs of the album.

The traditional heavy/power metal music of NIGHT LEGION is catchy, both melodic and harsh and above all transmits its enthusiasm to the listener. If I have to compare them with known bands in order to give you a hint about this album, then I would say they are close to groups like METALIUM, PRIMAL FEAR, DEATH DEALER, CAGE and of course JUDAS PRIEST.

Also I liked the cover of the album a lot with the werewolves that fits to the whole feeling of the album and could easily be a cover of such a film like Underworld.

I am sure that people who have liked the works of Stu Marshall so far, will enjoy this album too, and if you don’t know him, then this can be a very good start.
