SVIET MARGOT – Glance To Infinity Review

SVIET MARGOT – Glance To Infinity
Agoge Records
The name of the band is a combination of the Russian word “sviet” which means universe and the female name Margot who is a character of the Japanese manga (comic book) entitled Lupin III. So, the name of the band can somehow be translated as universal Margot. Why universal? Probably because music along with mathematics can be the only two universal languages that we can understand. Anyway, this is the sophomore album from the female fronted band from Italy.

SVIET MARGOT is not a band that can be described as metal. They don’t have any metal elements at all and I don’t think that I am capable to give a detailed description of their sound, but I will give it a try.

The music of the band is based on melodies and in their songs it expresses a specter of emotions. Their melodies transmit a vivid and optimistic feeling to the listener and in general “Glance to Infinity” is an album that someone can listen to easily even without knowing much of their style, like me. So, which is their style? I would say that the band balances between the pop and rock sound and they have some jazz influences thrown in some compositions.

As I said above this is a direct and catchy release that people who are into the pop/rock genre might find interesting. The only thing I can say is that it is obvious that the band has worked hard in this release and I am sure that if they continue this way they will make sensation in the pop/rock scene around the world.
