Six years have already passed? The debut album of this Italian band was released in 2010 under the title “Crystal Demons” and I think that it is one of the first new bands that had this strong N.W.O.B.H.M. feeling in their sound. The band exists since 2007.  For reasons unknown to me the band after 6 years decided to strike back with its sophomore album and I was really anxious to listen to it.

In their new album WITCHUNTER once again deliver an album of traditional metal that is mainly based on speed and melody, without missing some more hard rockin’ touches. It is actually an album that offers variety to the listener and it also has a heavy N.W.O.B.H.M. influence with a modern approach of course. In my opinion the band manages to combine under its own style influences from bands like JAGUAR and MOTORHEAD (“Lady in White”) and when it becomes more commercial or hard rockin’ then SAXON is also a major influence to them (“Hounds of Rock”). Finally the band includes in this release two well delivered cover songs of LEED ZEPPELIN’s “Achilles Last Stand” and THIN LIZZY’s “Are You Ready”. 

“Back on the Hunt” is an album that has variety and above all nice and fresh ideas. It is a release that flows easily and creates to you the need to listen to it again and again.  Traditional metal fans should check it out…
