OBLITERATED - Fragments of Infinity review

OBLITERATED - Fragments of Infinity
Independent
We will stay in Italy, which once more proves to be a country that has a huge rock and metal scene that offers to the listener a variety of sounds to listen to. This time we will get aggressive and as you can guess from the band’s name we will enter the fields of thrash metal.

In this four song release OBLITERATED give us a taste of their music and I think it is more than enough especially if you consider that two of the compositions here are more than seven and eleven minutes long. It is really impressive for a band to create compositions that have such a long duration and it is a hard task to make these compositions keep the interest of the listener from the first till the last second. The fact is that OBLITERATED manage to do that. Their sound combines straight forward thrash metal riffs that stick in your mind and force you to bang your head along with very technical solos and leads on the guitars. Yes, they belong to what we call technical thrash metal and they manage to use their high skills in a functional way that make the compositions included here interesting and more dimensional.

The band considers amongst its influences groups like KREATOR, VEKTOR, MEGADETH, DEMOLITION HAMMER and many more, but I think that these influences and especially KREATOR are very obvious, but only as a source of inspiration.

I have no more to add, except say that OBLITERATED might be a young band, but shows such maturity and well balanced passion that can’t pass unnoticed. Yes, this is a release that I can recommend easily to a fan of thrash metal and I believe that OBLITERATED have a very promising future if they continue and work the way they did in this release.
