GABRIELS is the personal musical project of the Italian piano/keyboard composer of the same name. From the bio that I have in my hands I have to say that I am impressed by the studies that Gabriels has done on his instrument and more specifically the fact that he has participated in many bands, cooperated with many known musicians (Fabio Leone amongst them) and played a variety of musical styles and genres.

His new release is a rock/metal opera, which is something that we are used to lately in the metal scene you might say, but the concept story of this album is based on a known manga (Japanese comic book) which has the title “Hokuto no Ken”.  It is a story of revenge and martial arts which will be completed in 3 albums.
Musically, now, GABRIELS combines many different styles in this album and manages to craft solid compositions from them. Personally speaking I would say that the album belongs to the heavy/power metal genre, but its boundaries expand in other genres too, like hard rock (there are some strong URIAH HEEP, DEEP PURPLE moments here), progressive metal and even pop music. Gabriels moves very naturally from one genre to the other and manages to keep the album homogeneous.
The new release of GABRIELS is a very interesting album with a plethora of details that give to it more depth and variety. I think that people who are into symphonic rock/metal will find here something good to listen to. My only objection is the sound production of the album which could have been clearer and more dynamic.
