I think that the story of DÉJÀ VU is a proof of true love for heavy metal. As the band claims it all started back in the late 80’s and especially after an OVERKILL show. It was then that they decided to form a band and play heavy metal. They gave live shows in Germany, but they never released an album, except a single in 1990 which is hard to find. Later, when the heavy metal sound knew tough days, the group disbanded due to lack of motivation. In 2000 the band was reformed and due to the demand of the metal fans they released in 2006 their debut album “Bullets to Spare” which was followed in 2008 by their sophomore release entitled “Decibel Disease”. After that the band hasn’t released anything else.

In 2016 8 years after the release of their sophomore album DÉJÀ VU are here again with their third studio album. Musically the band moves on the heavy/power metal sound and of course they belong to what we are used to calling Teutonic metal. They have a steady rhythm section close to bands like GRAVE DIGGER and ACCEPT, but of course this is not all. DÉJÀ VU combine in their German metal sound elements from the British metal scene and in specific they do have references to such bands like IRON MAIDEN and JUDAS PRIEST. There are also 2 songs that flirt heavily with the U.S. metal scene. The one is the speed/thrash metal composition entitled “Keep Yourself Alive” and the other is “Rise from Within” which is a song the fans of HELSTAR will appreciate.

“Ejected” is an album that combines the maturity that the band has earned throughout all these years and of course the sincere love and passion for heavy metal music. It is an album that will hit the spot with people who love the German heavy/power metal sound that can be both melodic and yet aggressive.
