BOOZE CONTROL – The Lizard Rider review

BOOZE CONTROL – The Lizard Rider
Inferno Records
BOOZE CONTROL was introduced to me with their sophomore album that had the simple and straight to the point title “Heavy Metal”. In times when someone tries to be or look complicate in order to impress the metal fans, BOOZE CONTROL dare say and play traditional heavy metal.

Their new album comes 3 years after their sophomore and finds them in a new label too (Inferno Records which helped them in the promotion with their previous release). Although the time gap between the 2 albums is big especially in our days, it shows that BOOZE CONTROL never rush things and above all that they haven’t lost their identity.
With “The Lizard Rider” the people who loved them in their previous releases won’t be disappointed at all and all of you that will learn the band with this album will appreciate their talent and ability to create straight forward heavy metal songs. The main characteristics of their sound are the melodies and the steady rhythm section. The band’s influences come from the N.W.O.B.H.M. scene (IRON MAIDEN elements of course dominate their sound) and of course they have their references to the German metal scene too (after all it is their country of origin).
All in all “The Lizard Rider” continues from the point that their previous album left us and the band once again is in great form and delivers catchy heavy metal songs. Personally I have to notice that as the album proceeds I like it more (in plain words I like more the songs in the end, but this is a matter of taste). If you search for well developed and performed traditional heavy metal then BOOZE CONTROL is a good choice for you.
