DEVIL’S GUN - Dirty 'n' Damned review

 DEVIL’S GUN - Dirty 'n' Damned
Black Lodge Records
There are times I really think that somehow we have returned back to the 80’s. You can see the 80’s feeling almost everywhere, in fashion, in movies and of course in the thing that interests us most here… heavy metal music.

This time I will present to you DEVIL’S GUN from Sweden which is a young contemporary band, but their mind and heart is fixed in the 80’s which shows that they have a good taste for music.
As the band claims in its short info sheet, musically they draw inspiration from such bands like ACCEPT, AIRBOURNE and MOTORHEAD. I think that this is right since from the first notes that you will listen to, you will notice the strong ACCEPT influence in their sound which is also obvious and in the way that Jocke Hermansson (Vocals) sings. Besides the obvious though you will also notice some AC/DC references to their sound (after all they say they play like AIRBOURNE who also are influenced by the above mentioned huge band).
The whole album has a clear and dynamic production and of course the rock ‘n’ roll attitude or feeling rules the whole release. The band is really well bonded and the compositions sound very natural and sincere and not like a band that tries to copy the above mentioned colossal bands. If there is a disadvantage to the whole album, this is the lack of variety.
I think that if you want to party, then this would be a good choice for you and also the band made me believe that they will be really great on stage, however they need to add more personal elements in their sound, but this will happen in time and in their next releases. ACCEPT, AC/DC fans and party animals should check them out.
