ROSSOMETILE – Alchemica review

 ROSSOMETILE – Alchemica
Independent
Alchemy was something between science and magic in the ancient and medieval times. From the little I know it was the first effort to understand the nature of things and combine them in order to create something new. I think that creating music is a kind of alchemy too because you have to combine the mathematic accuracy of notes with emotions. I believe that something like that ROSSOMETILE had in mind when they named their 4th studio release under the title “Alchemica”.

Musically the band it is an amalgam of different sounds and styles. It is hard to put them under a specific genre and claim that you have done your job right. The sure thing is that they are a female fronted band with a gifted singer. Marialisa has a voice that can move from pop/rock singing to a symphonic and operatic way. She does that very naturally and actually gives to the band’s sound a dramatic dimension. It is not though only the singer, since the band manages to combine in its style elements of pop, gothic metal, electro and rock music. They manage to create an amalgam of sounds that on the one hand are solid and on the other they offer a variety of moods and emotions to the listener.
ROSSOMETILE is a melodic female fronted band that is close to bands like LACUNA COIL or even EVANESCENCE, but still they have their own character. “Alchemica” is a pleasant album and can be listened to even by people who are not really into this kind of music like me for example.
