I think that SKINFLINT can be a very content band not only because they have introduced Botswana, their country, in the heavy metal world, but because they have managed to create quite unique sound which has its roots in the 80’s metal. One other interesting thing with SKINFLINT is that their lyrics are inspired by the African folklore, at least the biggest part of it. In their new release once again the band deliver songs in its own unique sound that carries on the tradition of IRON MAIDEN and BLACK SABBATH. This time, though, the band expands it limits and adds also some 70’s blues/hard rock elements in its sound that makes it even more complicated and variable in the good sense of the term (I think that the song with the title “The Wizard and his Hound”). With their new album once again SKINFLINT prove that there is still place for an original sound in the traditional heavy metal genre. I think that the fans of the band won’t be disappointed at all, but also people who search for something original in the heavy metal genre will like these guys.
