SCHISMOPHILIA – Dystopia review

 SCHISMOPHILIA – Dystopia
Independent
There are so many bands out there that claim to be innovative and progressive and most of them are just talks. The only thing that you need to be in music is true and to love the music you play. SCHISMOPHILIA from Germany is such a band and above all a band that someone can have a hard time to tag under a certain genre. In their debut album “Dystopia” the band presents a sound which is actually a blend of sounds and genres. They have, though, the talent and the maturity to craft a unique and coherent sound out of these different musical genres and styles. The sound of the band carries the grooves of modern metal, but also has a lot of thrash and death metal references and maybe some modern rock touches. The thing with them is that they manage to sound interesting and made me like them although I am fan of the traditional metal sound. The band sings in the English language but there are a couple of songs like “Katara” and “As Reality Passes you by…” that they use the Greek language too. After listening to “Dystopia” carefully I have to say that it is an album with variety and an album that has its own musical identity. SCHISMOPHILIA did a really good work…
