THE SILENT RAGE - The Deadliest Scourge review

THE SILENT RAGE - The Deadliest Scourge

Eventually these silent feelings, that flare up slowly and manifest at the right time create the greatest impact... So the Greeks THE SILENT RAGE, which exist from 2006 and have made a few, yet right moves (they have released until now 1 demo and 2 EPs) in the year 2016 felt ready to release their first full length studio album.

From the first moment I listened to their new album I was impressed by the maturity exhibited both in their songwriting skills and the way they execute their music. They have the enthusiasm of the band that now makes its first steps in discography, but on the other hand you can’t ignore the experience and the easiness to compose that they have earned through years, which are all highlighted in every composition that is included in the album.

Musically now, the band tries and succeeds to combine melody and roughness in its compositions. I would say that the essence of their music belongs to the power metal sound, but on the other hand they have many melodic thrash metal-type of passages and a progressive metal mood which colors the compositions and gives them variety. Personally I would say that they are probably closer to the U.S. metal sound, but on the other hand there are European metal elements in their music too. Finally they have created a sound production that is dynamic and clean so you can listen to all the details of the compositions.

Once again I reach to the same conclusion. The metal scene in Greece is one of the few areas that progress and develop and THE SILENT RAGE might be a relatively new band but they are amongst the main exponents of this progress. It is really worth to listen to this disc.
