MorteMutta Release New Single "På Markene"

 

International symphonic black metal outfit MorteMutta have released their new single, "På Markene." The track was recorded at Eijefjorden Studios and mixed and mastered by Chris Highlander.

Formed in 1999 by Norwegian musician DC and Japanese artist JJ, MorteMutta describe their unique style as "Fjordmetal." Their music blends Nordic and Japanese folklore with multilingual vocals, cinematic arrangements, and distinctive instrumentation, including the traditional koto alongside unconventional elements such as roaring chainsaws.

Rather than focusing on standalone songs, the band builds an immersive mythological universe through its releases. MorteMutta's history also includes a notorious chapter when JJ destroyed the original masters of the project's early album, a moment that has since become part of the band's enduring legacy.
