Οι Αμερικάνοι Power Metal θεάνθρωποι οι Jag Panzer, μετά την δημιουργική έκρηξη τους στα μέσα των 90's επέδειξαν σταθερά βελτιουμενα δισκογραφικά βήματα. Fourth Judgement, The Age Of Mastery , το concept Thane To The Throne βασισμένο στο έργο McBeath του Shakespeare (ίσως ακριβώς λόγω του εύρους του θέματος εδώ να βαλτωσαν λίγο) και αυτό το δισκάκι που έσκασε την εποχή που ξεκίνησα τη στρατιωτική μου θητεία, και είχα έντονα στο μυαλό τον συνειρμό με τα άρματα μάχης που έχει το όνομα του συγκροτήματος. Το έκτο (έβδομο με το τότε ακόμα ακυκλοφόρητο Chain of Command του 1988 που εντέλει γράφτηκε σε CD το 2004!) δημιούργημα τους είναι από τα τρία αγαπημένα μου μετά την επανεκκίνηση τους το 1994. Μοντέρνα παραγωγή, μουσικές στα γνωστά ανανεωμένα U.S. Power Metal μονοπάτια που κι οι ίδιοι δημιούργησαν πίσω στη δεκαετία του '80 και δέκα κομμάτια που φτάνουν τα μέγιστα  σε ποιότητα απ'  τα οποία ξεχωρίζουν τα Take to the Sky, Frozen in Fear, Unworthy, The Silent, Cold is the Blade (And the Heart That Weilds it) και Power Surge.

Stabilization on the Throne

The American Power Metal legends, Jag Panzer, after their creative explosion in the mid-90s, consistently demonstrated improving steps in their discography. Albums like *The Fourth Judgement*, *The Age Of Mastery*, and the concept album *Thane To The Throne*, based on Shakespeare's *Macbeth* (perhaps the album's breadth caused it to stagnate a bit), are prime examples. This album dropped around the time I began my military service, and I couldn't help but associate the band's name with battle tanks. Their sixth release (seventh, if you count the then-unreleased *Chain of Command* from 1988, which finally saw a CD release in 2004!) is one of my top three favorites since their resurgence in 1994. Featuring modern production, the music follows the familiar yet refreshed U.S. Power Metal paths that the band itself pioneered back in the '80s. The ten tracks on this album reach peak quality, with standouts like "Take to the Sky," "Frozen in Fear," "Unworthy," "The Silent," "Cold is the Blade (And the Heart That Wields it)," and "Power Surge."
