The concept of a family business is not something we often encounter in music, although there are quite a few cases, like that of EDOUARTH. What makes this band even more intriguing is the age of its members. Specifically, the band consists of James Edouarth on vocals and bass, known from SPIDER KICKERS, and his two sons: Peter Edouarth on guitar, who is only 10 years old, and George Edouarth on drums, who is 12 years old. In the end, metal bridges that infamous generation gap we used to write about in school essays.

All of the above is clearly interesting and impressive, but beyond the noise and the shine, what remains is the essence, and EDOUARTH Co. (family business) certainly has it. Their heavy metal sound is simple, but never simplistic or repetitive. It has the directness you find in NWOBHM bands, especially groups like DIAMOND HEAD and HOLOCAUST. The more you listen to the album, the more you enjoy it. Their mid-tempo moments, which touch on doom metal, as we learned from BLACK SABBATH, are also interesting, with a standout example being the track titled "Dying Inside." Now that I think about it, the album also reminds me of our own legendary VICE HUMAN.

Overall, and considering the age of two of the three members, I can confidently say that I hold in my hands a very solid and mature work that has nothing to envy from more experienced and older bands in the genre. James Edouarth must feel very proud, not only because the apples didn’t fall far from the tree, but mainly because they possess talent and character. I hope and wish this band continues to be part of the conversation in the future.
