Summer has always held a special connection to hard rock music for me, though I can't fully explain why. Perhaps, in the end, it doesn't really matter. In this summer spirit, the fourth studio album by Babis Kaisas—a musician and composer from Thessaloniki, now based in Los Angeles—has seamlessly blended into my seasonal listening.

This album, featuring renowned musicians such as David Reece (formerly of Accept), Ian Parry (Elegy), Paul Jackson (Roadhouse, with Pete Willis from Def Leppard), and others, offers 13 tracks that embody the signature style of Babis Kaisas: a blend of hard rock and melodic metal. What sets this album apart is its deep sense of 80s nostalgia, evoking that era without falling into the trap of mere imitation.

You will undoubtedly find echoes of iconic bands like DEF LEPPARD, BON JOVI, and DORO, with "(She Is Just So) Heavy Metal" standing out as my personal favorite. While these influences are unmistakable, Babis Kaisas skillfully infuses each track with his unique touch.

Another notable aspect of the album is its lyrical theme, dedicated to women. Whether as mothers, sisters, partners, or muses, women play—and will continue to play—a crucial role in a man's life. Just as Homer invoked his muse for inspiration in his epic tales, Babis Kaisas seems to draw his creative force from women for this album.

So, this summer, enjoy the beautiful and melodic compositions from Babis Kaisas. We may not have the means for a vacation, but with this album in our ears, the summer will surely be pleasant and filled with music.
