Οι Slayer  έχουν κι αυτοί δικό τους τόμο στην εγκυκλοπαίδεια της Metal μουσικής.

Κομμάτι της σκηνής του Bay Area,  μαζί με Metallica, Megadeth, Exodus ντεμπουτάρισαν με αυτόν τον δίσκο. Την εποχή εκείνη βασική επιρροή τους ήταν οι Άγγλοι Venom. Το Thrash Metal  παρακλάδι μόλις άρχιζε να ανθίζει τα πρώτα του σκοτεινά άνθη. Έτσι, το πρώτο τους δημιούργημα είναι πιο μελωδικό από τα επόμενα. Στη ουσία είναι  σαν Venom σε επιταχύνση και με καλύτερο ήχο κι ακόμη πιο σκοτεινά στιχουργικα θέματα. Evil Has No Boundaries, Die By The Sword, Show No Mercy, The Antichrist, Black Magic, Tormentor, The Final Command είναι χαραγμένα στο μυαλό μου από το cd αυτό.

Οι τετράδα των Araya, Hanneman, King, Lombardo στο πρώτο από τα έξι σερί (μέσα και το διπλό Decade Of Aggression Live)  διαμάντια τους ως το 1992.

Slayer occupies a distinguished position within the Metal music encyclopedia. Hailing from the influential Bay Area scene, alongside heavyweights like Metallica, Megadeth, and Exodus, they made a resounding entrance with this album. During that era, their primary inspiration stemmed from the English band Venom. Thrash Metal, an emerging subgenre, was just beginning to unfurl its dark tapestry, and Slayer's debut offering leans toward melody compared to their later works. Essentially, it's akin to Venom with an intensified sonic quality and even more profound lyrical themes.

Tracks like "Evil Has No Boundaries," "Die By The Sword," "Show No Mercy," "The Antichrist," "Black Magic," "Tormentor," and "The Final Command" from this album remain etched in my memory. The quartet comprising Araya, Hanneman, King, and Lombardo on their first of six consecutive albums, including the monumental "Decade Of Aggression Live," firmly cemented their iconic status in the metal world, a legacy extending until 1992.
