An Enduring Triumph, Two Decades Later Galder, the visionary behind this one-man band, continues to shine brightly, even twenty years after its inception. Following the impressive 'Revelation 666...', this release serves as a worthy successor. The guitars deliver powerful, solid sounds that give birth to admirable compositions. Galder's consistency in churning out exceptional releases remains unwavering, with each instrument and vocal harmonizing flawlessly.

While there are fleeting moments of acoustic interludes, the album predominantly embraces the essence of hardcore melodic black metal. Galder's vocals maintain an unrelenting intensity throughout, characterized by a relentless scream.

What distinguishes this album is the seamless fusion of music and synthesizers. Typically, I'm not fond of these elements coexisting, but Galder masterfully makes it work. I found myself thoroughly engrossed in this album from start to finish, with every track displaying remarkable strength and cohesion.

It's fair to assert that all Old Man's Child releases are rock-solid, but this one holds a special place in the band's repertoire. It not only reflects maturity but also the evolution of melodic black metal, underscoring Galder's pivotal role in the metal community. He not only brings a unique style but also a boundless creative spirit and an unwavering commitment to the genre. It's reassuring that he remains actively involved in this arena, contributing crucial sounds to the world of unyielding aggression.

Significantly, this album features Nicholas Barker, the drummer from Cradle of Filth, and the end result is nothing short of exceptional, earning it a solid "A-" rating.

In summary, expect nothing less than top-tier melodic black metal from 2003. Galder stands as a force to be reckoned with in extreme music, leaving an indelible mark not only in his band but also in Dimmu Borgir. Let's eagerly anticipate the remarkable music he will continue to craft in the years ahead.
