This is a bit milder than 'Killing Music', their last release, but the riffs seem to be better.  I think it's fair to say I've listened to the album enough to the point to where I can write a comprehensive review.  I'd say that everything about this album is good.  It's not overtly brutal, though the riffs are fresh.  And it should not have taken 12 years before releasing anything that could've been released.  However, 45+ minutes of music to making good death metal.  Being a Birmingham based band, these guys have been around for a WHILE.  It was actually Barney from Napalm Death's first band.  Though I believe that they were a lot different back then.

Οι μουσικοί  Adriano Troiano (μπασίστας) και Jvo Julmy (τραγουδιστής) μας πρωτοσυστήθηκαν με το γνωστό πλέον σε όλους σχεδόν συγκρότημα, EMERALD. Το 1999 μάλιστα με το τότε ντεμπούτο τους με τίτλο «Rebels of Our Time» αποτέλεσαν μια από τις πρώτες μπάντες που αναβίωσαν, χωρίς όμως να αντιγράφουν, τον NWOBHM ήχο. Μια μουσική τάση που γνωρίζει μεγάλες δόξες στις μέρες μας, αφού είναι χιλιάδες οι νεαροί μουσικοί που δημιουργούν συγκροτήματα που προσπαθούν να αναβιώσουν το ως άνω κίνημα. Οι καλλιτεχνικές, όμως, ανησυχίες των μουσικών αυτών δεν καλύπτονταν από τους EMERALD και έτσι πήραν την απόφαση να δημιουργήσουν τους DISTANT PAST. Ένα συγκρότημα που θα κινούνταν στον κλασσικό metal ήχο με κάποια progressive rock/metal στοιχεία. Με το συγκρότημα αυτό κατάφεραν να δημιουργήσουν αξιόλογες και ποιοτικές δουλειές, χωρίς ποτέ να εκβιάζουν καταστάσεις. Κυκλοφορούσαν, δηλαδή, δίσκους όποτε αισθάνονταν οι ίδιο έτοιμοι.

DARGOR released new Satyricon cover

Polish Black Metal band DARGOR released their new Satyricon cover «The Wolfpack». The release was recorded in 2020 at "Regnat Audio Studio" and "Kancho Records studio", mixed/mastered by Adrian Jarosz.

DARGOR was formed in 2017 as a one-man project at Krosno, Poland by Michal Kustra. Having a dream about creating music with inspirations from bands like Samael, Ajattara and Dimmu Borgir. In 2018 the band released the first single "Hellfire", and in 2020 Damian Muszyński (bass/vocal) Michał Socha (rhythm guitar) and Maciej Socha (drums) joined the band and the lineup was completed. The band released their debut EP «Descent Into Chaos» on 01 April 2021.

SARMAT releasing their debut album "RS-28"

 

The Weapon of Ultimate Destruction (the Russian super-heavy intercontinental ballistic missile RS-28 SARMAT) is coming from Poland this time. The newcomers SARMAT based in that country are spreading their "RS-28" debut full length album around the globe. More than 33 minutes of aggression, blasting brutality and anger with a little dose of melody. 8 tracks of death/black metal played in high tempo, fulfilled with brutal yet understandable vocals and having their own variety. The album released on March 19th this year in digital format, available on bands’ Bandcamp site .

MISANTHROPIK TORMENT released new album

 

American Blackened Death Metal band MISANTHROPIK TORMENT released their new album «Murder Is My Remedy». The new release was recorded, mixed and mastered by Erik Leviathan at "Misanthropik Studios''.

MISANTHROPIK TORMENT was formed in 2018 as a one-man band by Erik Leviathan. In 2020 Josh Freeman from the band "There's only one Elvis", Josh Freeman, James Pasini and Hector The Beast joined the band and the lineup was completed.

Οι FEANOR από την Αργεντινή - ένα συγκρότημα που στην χώρα μας σύστησε η Secret Port Records, η οποία κυκλοφόρησε τους 2 πρώτους δίσκους τους – έχουν εμπνευστεί το όνομά τους από τον ομώνυμο μυθιστορηματικό χαρακτήρα που δημιούργησε ο μεγάλος Τόλκιν. Μουσικά, όμως, δείχνουν να εμπνέονται από τους MANOWAR που στο μυαλό μας όλοι έχουμε συνδυάσει με τον Κόναν τον Βάρβαρο του Robert E. Howard. Η επίδραση δε που ασκούν απάνω τους οι MANOWAR γίνεται ακόμη πιο εμφανής στην παρούσα κυκλοφορία.

This is a quality album, I'm not sure why people think it's "generic."  I thought it anything but that.  This is a MONUMENTAL release from the band.  Hope that they come out with a new album soon, too.  But this one is a good one that they left off with.  I think that the rhythms are awesome and the vocals go along well with the music.  Every song on here was worth its wait at the time.  They put in some phenomenal music to this one.  I like the sound to it.  The vocals are tolerable and vicious!  There is an unrelenting vibe to strike here.  A great follow-up album I thought that they did an outstanding job.

3 PIECES OF EVIL news from the studio

 

American Symphonic Black Metal band 3 PIECES OF EVIL is finishing the work on their debut album «Sorrows». Right now the band is on "Black Mass Studios" where they are getting the last touches for the album that will be released in summer 2021.

3 PIECES OF EVIL was formed in 2018 as a one-man project by Todd Kelly, and released their debut EP "Weeping Willow" in March 2020.

This is a great album and INTENSE.  Almost an hour of death/black metal.  It sounds more black metal than anything else.  I enjoyed the whole thing!  The riffs were good and the vocals screaming alongside the music.  That's what I admired the most from this one.  The intensity is high!  They really know how to make some quality metal.  The whole way through it slays.  Weird that they're just a 3-piece, but they sure did a good job at arranging the songs.  The music is what I enjoyed the most.  But I liked the raw sound, too.  They for sure know how to make some good music.  I'm surprised no one else has discovered this band.

RUNNING BOT released new single

 

Russian Synth Metal band RUNNING BOT released their new single «Step into the Future». The release was recorded at "IVOLGA Studio", mixed/mastered by Andrey Ivanenko and released by Russian "Patriot Label".

No one knows exactly when RUNNING BOT was formed beside that they came from Novosibirsk, Russia. The guys themselves tell that they run away from a top secret biohacking laboratory. The band members are RM1X v 1.3 (vocal) JSI v2.1 (guitar) AL5RF (bass guitar),  IK3 beta (keyboards) and G2BB (drums). The band's debut single "Pandora" was released in January 2021.

DUINDWALER released debut EP

 

Dutch Black Metal band DUINDWALER released their debut EP «Landloper». The release was recorded, mixed and mastered by Daan Bleumink at his home studio.

DUINDWALER was formed in 2020 at Heerhugowaard , Netherlands as a solo project by Daan Bleumink, the writer of Dutch black metal band Hellevaerder. Duindwaler (dune wanderer) delivers raw no-nonsense black metal and creates a misanthropic soundscape with a punch.

ILLUSION OF FATE released new single

 

American Atmospheric/Blackened Death Metal band ILLUSION OF FATE released their new single «Soulless Chasm». The single was recorded at Pretzel Studios in Milwaukee WI and mixed/mastered by Hayden Crownover.

ILLUSION OF FATE was established in summer 2019 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin by King Morbid (Vocals), Hayden Crownover (Guitars) and Josh Hetzel (Drums). The band debut EP was released in April of 2020.

KIRIAKOS GP: Κυκλοφόρησε το νέο τραγούδι! Δείτε το VIDEO

 

Ο Έλληνας βιρτουόζος κιθαρίστας Kiriakos GP (Κυριάκος Μπουλούμπασης) κυκλοφόρησε το νέο του τραγούδι από το επερχόμενο ομότιτλο άλμπουμ Future Vision. Στο μπάσο συμμετέχει ο Marcus Siepen των Blind Guardian και  Demons and Wizards. Το artwork του άλμπουμ αντλεί τη θεματολογία του από την κλιματική αλλαγή, ενώ το video clip επιχειρεί μέσα από τα σαφή μηνύματα που περνάει να ευαισθητοποιήσει το κοινό γύρω από τους ορατούς κινδύνους που επιφέρει σήμερα η κλιματική αλλαγή και η υπερθέρμανση του πλανήτη. Στο επόμενο διάστημα αναμένεται να κυκλοφορήσουν σε video κι άλλα τραγούδια από το νέο άλμπουμ  του καλλιτέχνη.

Οι SNOWBLIND είναι μια σταθερή αξία στον χώρο της Ελληνικής metal σκηνής. Έχοντας συμπληρώσει πάνω από 20 χρόνια παρουσίας, συνεχίζουν σταθερά (κι όποτε νιώθουν έτοιμοι) να κυκλοφορούν δισκογραφικές δουλειές. BLACK SIGMA released debut album

 

Belgian Atmospheric Dark Metal band BLACK SIGMA released their debut album «Lost». The album was mixed and mastered by Swedish MO Metal Productions. The artwork was being taken care of by Project C Productions, legendary Kris Verwimp for the cover and Christophe Szpajdel (Lord of the Logos) for the BLACK SIGMA logo.

BLACK SIGMA was formed in 2020 as a one-man band by J.V.G as a result of a failed reunion of the 90’s Belgian Atmospheric Black Metal band, “AVATAR”. In February 2021 the band released their first single "Dying Sun".

Finish Death Metal band NOTHING BUT A REVOLUTION released their new single «New Primal End». The new single was recorded, mixed and mastered in "Sewing Room Productions" by Elmeri Kinnunen.

NOTHING BUT A REVOLUTION was founded in 2020 as a 3-member Finnish metal band from Kajaani, Kainuu. The band was formed by Tuomo Sirviö (Vocals, guitars & keyboards), Antti Horttana (Bass) and Jussi Tampio (Drums).

This album has an odd twist to it some strange genres mixed into one.  But I thought it to be a solid release.  I may be interested in their earlier material.  I think that their "style" is pretty unique.  Strange sort of atmospheric sound to the songs.  But the music is wholly original and worthwhile, hence the "B-" rating.  I think that they made something happen here as guttural but unique release!  The leads aren't the greatest, I tended to favor the music over everything.  The vocals are hoarse and they fit the music well.  I liked the album pretty well.  There weren't many songs that I disliked.
