MYRKGAND
is a death/black/folk metal project created by the Brazilian musician Dmitry Luna, who is the composer of all the songs
and plays almost all instruments. It is based on fantasy, magic, legends, blood
and epic battles, and always features guest musicians from many well known metal
bands. This is a part from the biography of this project on Facebook and covers
what MYRKGAND is all about.
A really
remarkable album, taking quality death/black/epic/folk stuff onto a whole new
level. Creative musical compositions, excellent songs, tons of talent are the
key ingredients.
The
album includes both clean vocals and growls reminding me in many cases stuff from KING DIAMOND, MERCYFUL FATE, SEASONS OF
THE WOLF, IMMORTAL, DISSECTION, SAXON, RUNNING WILD, ATHLOS, FOLKEARTH and many
others.
This
edition is a licensed deal of the album for Europe including the “Orcs and Ogres”
song on the album on a magical version.
The
production is crystal clear and the mixing absolute. One of the most impressive
parts of this CD is the number of the
guests, take a deep breath and enjoy the talents of artist from bands such as MYSTIFIER,
NOVEMBERS DOOM, INFESTED BLOOD, MALEFACTOR, KORZUS, STEEL WARRIOR, LUXIRIA, LILITH
AND Mike Lipond of SYMPHONY X on an amazing bass solo!!!!
