SNAKEYES – Metal Monster Review

SNAKEYES – Metal Monster

Independent

SNAKEYES are a Spanish band with a Romanian singer. I do like these collaborations because they prove that metal is above all colors and nationalities and most of all because such collaborations usually give us good albums to listen to. SNAKEYES have already impressed me with their 2015 debut album entitled “Ultimate Sin” and so when I saw that they had released their sophomore album entitled “Metal Monster” I was really intrigued to listen to their new work.

The successor of “Ultimate Sin” comes as a natural continuation. SNAKEYES are pretty much a straight forward and into the point metal band. They play the kind of metal that JUDAS PRIEST describe in their “Ram it Down” song lyrics “….and a million guitars screaming with power in the air We've found the place where the decibels race This army of rock will be there”. So, yes you will listen to screaming guitars, a pounding rhythm section, memorable melodies and a high pitched singer who personally I can put next to vocalists like Tom “The Ripper” Owens and Ralf Scheepers. I think that is pretty obvious that SNAKEYES are inspired mainly by JUDAS PRIEST and ROB HALFORD and you can also find similarities to their sound with such bands like PRIMAL FEAR and CAGE. There are some IRON MAIDEN touches too.

“Metal Monster” is a traditional heavy metal album made by musicians that love what they do and first of all are fans of this sound, so they have put in here their love and passion mixed with their talent and skill and thus gave us a release that is really enjoyable and surely I will love to listen to more than once.
