NARNIA – Narnia Review

NARNIA – Narnia
Massacre Records
When C.J. Lewis created the “Chronicles of Narnia” he wanted to write a tale that was also a metaphor about the Christian religion. Actually the Lion Aslan is considered to represent Jesus Christ. So, I think this is the reason that the band chose to use this name, because if you check their lyrics then you will realize they have themes about Jesus and the Christian religion in general. It is what we can simply say a white power metal band.

The band in May 2010 decided to quit, but this decision was not terminal. 4 years later, in 2014 they decided to reunite and this album, which is their seventh studio album, is their first release after their reunion.

Having listened to their first albums I have witnessed that in their new release the band although it has not declined its sound; it has certainly reduced the neoclassical elements. Actually their new album is moving more on the heavy/power metal paths with some hard rock touches. In my opinion the band on this album is definitely influenced by musicians like DIO, AXEL RUDI PELL and JORN, without though leaving out some YNGWIE MALMSTEEN influences.

“Narnia” is a nice comeback for the band that will not disappoint its fans and maybe will bring some new to them, since the songs here are more straight forward with catchy melodies and passionate interpretations. It is obvious that NARNIA can still offer some good tunes to the fans of melodic heavy/power metal.
