CHRONOSPHERE - Red n' Roll Review

CHRONOSPHERE - Red n' Roll
    Punishment 18 Records
The musicians that participate in CHRONOSPHERE may be young of age, but they display in their releases a maturity that a lot more experienced musicians would envy. They also have the thirst of the young band and of course they are monsters on stage and they never refuse an opportunity to play live. And if in all these you add that they have already released 3 albums (their third I am about to present to you here), then you can’t avoid to state that you are impressed by what someone can achieve if he/she is determined and loves what he does.

For those that read for the first time about CHRONOSPHERE, let me tell you that they come from Greece and their musical style is easily described as thrash metal. Their thrash metal sound, although it can be described as old school it has also modern thrash metal elements. In my opinion the bay area thrash metal movement is a great influence for the band and personally speaking I can tell that they have in their sound references to such bands like EXODUS, early METALLICA and MEGADETH. In their third release the band has expaned its sound to other musical genres like extreme metal (just listen to the songs “Demonized” and “Portal to the Underworld”) and also some punk references (the song “Be the Best” has an early THE OFFSPRING mood). However, “Red n' Roll” comes as a natural continuation of the previous album and shows a band that continuously seeks to expand its musical horizons without losing its identity.
