ICY STEEL - Through the Ashes Review

ICY STEEL - Through the Ashes
Independent
ICY STEEL is a band from Italy that I follow from their debut album and I actually have all of their releases so far, since they play my favorite Italian epic metal sound. In 2012 they released their previous album under the title “Krònothor”. It seems that in all these years they haven’t given up, but they worked hard and as a result, they will soon release their fourth studio album which will be a double CD.

ICY STEEL draw inspiration from mythology, heroic fantasy and medieval history and stories and try to create a sound that can pass the epic feeling of their lyrical thematology to the listener. So their sound is characterized by melodies that stick into your mind and mid-tempo compositions that sometimes flirt with epic doom metal too. In their new album all these elements that made me like ICY STEEL are here present too, but in my opinion the band here emphasizes a bit more on the traditional heavy metal sound (but this might be a matter of opinion).

So, my friends if you are into bands like DOMINE and DOOMSWORD and generally you love to listen to epic metal with soul and love for the 80’s metal sound, then this is a release that you will feel glad to check out…
