TENTH AMENDMENT – Conviction review

TENTH AMENDMENT – Conviction
Independent
TENTH AMENDMENT is a U.S. based band that exists since 2010 and so far they have released two full length albums, their debut titled “Self Evident” in 2011 and this year they felt ready after five years of preparations to release their sophomore album “Conviction”. Their music is categorized as groove metal and I guess this description is very accurate, but if you ask me I prefer the term hardcore.

I think it’s closer to the truth and gives a better and clearer idea of how the band really sounds. So, we have a hardcore foundation upon which the band builds its music by adding lots of grooves along with an industrial touch. Their music is aggressive and intense, it’s modern and voluminous and the rhythm section plays a key role. It is heavy and concrete and we could say it’s old school and it is enriched by nice guitar melodies and grooves. The last piece of the puzzle is the vocals that sound really pissed off and enhance the intensity and aggressiveness of the songs and how could they be any different since the topics they deal with are political in a very radical way... a way I, too, salute which makes me enjoy the end result even more! Now to wrap it up if you like riff-based music with a heavy rhythm section and you are fans of bands like PRO-PAIN, FEAR FACTORY, MACHINE HEAD and PANTERA, then I guess this is a band you should check out. TENTH AMENDMENT know how to write cool music that can make you bang your head and think at the same time!
