A TORTURED SOUL - On this Evil Night

Having
their second and third album, I was wandering what happened to this very
promising metal band from U.S.A. It seems that they had some line – up issues
and after they have solved that with the coming of 3 new musicians they strike
back with their album “On this Evil Night”.
It
is a title that could easily be a title of a horror movie or even the new album
of KING DIAMOND from which the band draws inspiration. From the first moments
of this album you can sense this horror atmosphere that the band wants to
create. The band’s riffs move between the power, speed and even thrash metal
sound which are enriched with some very good leads and solos. All these are
supported by a very accurate rhythm section and a singer that to my ears sounds
like a combination between James Rivera and King Diamond.
If
you have ever wondered how KING DIAMOND would sound if he was a member of a U.S.
power metal band like HELSTAR and ICED EARTH, then you will have an idea by
listening to this release. My only objection for this release is that could
have been even better if the band had shorted a bit the duration of the album,
but this is just a matter of taste.
