VISION LUNAR – Luna Subortus review

 VISION LUNAR – Luna Subortus
Winterwolf Records / Abridged Pause Recordings
VISION LUNAR is a one man band based in Canada who is here to release its debut EP containing 3 songs, after seven demo works. The band has been founded around 2006, but because of various problems it went on a hiatus for long periods of time… it was only last year that Virkelix, the guy behind this band, decided to re-form it and start all over again.

Now, another interesting fact about this band is that it only releases its works on a full moon and as you can see they have the word moon and its derivatives both in the band moniker and the EP title. Music-wise the band delivers instrumental atmospheric black metal that is obviously based on keyboards to create a bleak, dark atmosphere and guitars that deliver cold, blackened riffs and enhance the difference and contradiction between these two elements. VISION LUNAR also enriches its style with some post metal and ambient elements, thus creating very depressive music that will fill you with bitterness, coldness and melancholy. If you are fans of atmospheric, ambient black metal then “Luna Subortus” awaits to be discovered.
