THRASHFIRE – Vengeance of Fire EP review

THRASHFIRE – Vengeance of Fire EP

It seems that THRASHFIRE have been quite a long time in the metal scene of Turkey, but this release will make them more known abroad. The band was formed in 2006 in Ankara Turkey and before this EP they released a demo in 2007, an EP in 2010 and a full length album in 2011. Four years after their last full length album, they come back with the EP which I am about to present to you here.

The musical identity of the band can be recognized as thrash metal with a few speed metal elements. The influences of THRASHFIRE can be found in the 80’s sound and in my opinion come mainly from the German scene and bands like KREATOR, DESTRUCTION and SODOM. They of course have some SLAYER references too. The compositions included here are riff driven which are supported by a steady and dynamic rhythm section. Also the lead guitar gives a character to the songs.
“Vengeance of Fire” it is a typical thrash metal album, but not a boring one. The band has really good ideas, energy and a production that is dynamic and also makes them sound aggressive and dirty. THRASHFIRE really deserve to be noticed by the fans of this sound.
