JOHN DALLAS – Wild Life review

 JOHN DALLAS – Wild Life
Street Symphonies Records/Andromeda Dischi
John Dallas is the artistic name of a musician from Italy who hears in the name Luca Stanzani. John was and still is a big fan of the good old hard rock and rock sound and his first professional steps were under the band named PRESIDIO who later become AFTERLIFE. “Wild Life” is his first personal work. So let me tell you a few things about it…
THE COVER: I think that the cover is the photo of John Dallas sitting in an armchair. It really has this cool looking rocking attitude and of course it is straight to the point.
MUSICAL STYLE: As I mentioned above JOHN DALLAS is a musician that loves the hard rock and rock sound and this is exactly what he plays in this album. In a few words it can be described as melodic hard rock with a strong dose of what we call AOR sound and there are even a few times that he flirts with alternative rock. I can’t say that he reminded me of something in specific and this is good because it means that John has his own personal style and if there is a band that I can slightly compare him to then this is THE DARKNESS.
CONCLUSION: Obviously John Dallas wants to create an album that can offer variety and good time to the listener. He also tries to combine the good old hard rock sound with some new or modern if you like tendencies of this music. It seems that he has succeeded in that and gives us an album that is catchy and good for parties.
