DARKOLOGY are back with a new album titled “Fated to Burn”. They were formed in 2004 in Dallas, Texas and they released their first album in 2009, six years have passed since the release of a full length album with the exception of a Tour EP, which was released last year.

The famous Chris Tsangarides is the producer of their new album and the result is remarkable. We have to deal with a power/prog album consisted of 11 songs plus an instrumental bonus track called “Your Hollow Soul”. Each one has a different story to tell, and also different style. The main formula in songwriting is heavy power, guitar driven songs along with progressive elements. The Listener will find very qualitative songs in “Fated to Burn”, classic and pure metal sounding along with heavy riffs and mid tempo melodies. Nice job from the talented Michael and Brian Harris and of course from Mike Neal.
Kelly Sundow Caprenter is the vocalist of the band and his performance is the most distinct element of this album. The ex FIREWIND/ADAGIO singer gives a unique performance in each song and his voice resembles that of Tim Owens, Wade Black and sometimes even Midnight.
The album opener is “Kill Me if you Can” and you can expect a raw power heavy prog sound that will lift your adrenaline up, followed by “Beyond the Grave” a dark melody along with  theatrical vocals.
“The Eyes of the Machine” could easily be a JUDAS PRIEST hit, and “21st Century Frankensteins-Nobot 2” has a creepy feeling and these are only four songs that will get you exited from this album.
“Fated to Burn” is a very good album; it has quality, an excellent production, remarkable vocals and inspiring solos. All this make it one of the best in its genre and surely will please the fans.
Constantinos “Cob” Meidanis
