VINTAGE WARLORDS - The Invisible Foe EP review

VINTAGE WARLORDS - The Invisible Foe EP
Redefining Darkness Records
In this 20+ minute 3 song EP, we have here 2 genres meshed together, death metal and doom metal. Rightfully so and this thick, heavy, atmospheric aura of evil depicts nothing that falls short of its display of talent. Yes, talent alongside riffs that are revealing a bludgeoning darkness. Low end tuning guitars, these guys avow no compromise. You get underground of the underground. Their sound reflects that of a dying essence because of the eerie and chilling tempo based dread . The musicianship is remarkable. It's set to just a lurking sound of a blackened night. The vocals are deep resembling that of old AMORPHIS, maybe reflective of ASPHYX as well, not to mention old OPETH (the low-end portions featured on “My Arms, Your Hearse”).

In these songs, you hear it seems to be a reverb or echo maybe both that is used to enhance the dreariness. These songs are just HEAVY, the music is illustriously played in palm muted bits to the core along with some tremolo picking, though the drums stay still slowly in temperament alongside some double bass where it fits.
This EP features mostly 3 tracks that are low sounding vocals with some back-up screaming to accompany the hoarse voice. Production quality is sound and efficient in separating vocals, guitars, drums, keys which are all well heard never diminished nor in dismay. It's one hell of a good EP for fans of these kinds of genre types. A definitely chilling concoction that's presented plus it is musically intriguing and prolific. A distinct sound for the band, their death/doom fully orchestrated here.
Since there is a lack of physical copies available, you may want to visit their Facebook page for information to finding where you can download the EP. If death/doom metal is suitable to your pallet, these guys deliver! A well spent 20+ minutes of your time with a ton of amazing riffs/music!
