SYNAPTIK - The Mechanisms of Consequence review

SYNAPTIK - The Mechanisms of Consequence
Rebel Tune Records
After we burned our brains with extremely speed thrash metal, it is time to restore our brain activity and become more intellectual and more complex. I think that SYNAPTIK give us this opportunity with their debut album. In their debut album the band from the United Kingdom present a sound that is complex and yet pretty much straightforward. Their compositions mix influences both from the U.S. thrash and power metal scene, but they also have some progressive metal structures in their songs. Their playing is quite skillful, but in a way that serves the composition and helps them to evolve and not in the boring show off kind of way of other bands. Personally speaking, I think that SYNAPTIK are closer to the sound of bands like NEVERMORE and CONTROL DENIED without though copying them. This is a release that needs the full attention of the listener in order to comprehend it and I am sure the more you listen to it, the more things you will discover. I have to admit that I am not a big fan of SYNAPTIK, but these guys have done a very good work and I think they are sincere with what they do. People, who love modern power/thrash metal will enjoy them as well.
