ADRIAN WEISS - Criminal Record Review

ADRIAN WEISS - Criminal Record
Independent
Adrian Weiss is a very talented guitarist and the first time I came in touch with his work was through the band GLORYFUL who I believe that have much to offer in the heavy/power metal genre. It seems though that Adrian’s creative ambitions are not satisfied only through the music of GLORYFUL. He is an artist that constantly searches for new creative challenges and different ways to express himself. This is how the third album under the title “Criminal Record” was created.

The release is instrumental and of course, as you can guess, it is guitar driven. Here Adrian in comparison with his work on GLORYFUL sounds more melodic and sometimes we can say modern. The compositions that are included here are an amalgam of metal, rock and blues. There are also some grooves and modern metal touches. The interesting point of this release is the talent of the guitarist to combine all these elements and craft solid compositions. The passage from the metal/melodic elements to the blues one and back again comes really naturally. There are times that in his rock moments Adrian reminded me a bit of Carlos Santana. The other element that makes this album interesting and open to all kinds of audiences is that Adrian creates compositions that everyone can listen to and doesn’t use them as a means to display his skills on the guitar.

If you want to listen to an interesting melodic and guitar driven rock/metal album then I think that “Criminal Record” will leave you more than satisfied.
