EGIDIO MAGGIO – Me review

 EGIDIO MAGGIO – Me
Independent
Egidio was born in Taranto Italy in 1967, in a family full of musicians (his father was also a guitarist). In this environment at the age of 9 he discovered his love for the guitar and various musical genres like rock, pop, jazz, blues and many more. Egidio through the years dedicated his studies on guitar and started his career as a professional guitarist in 1989; he has managed to play with many known Italian artists ever since. Now, on my hands, I hold his new work under the simple title “Me” and what I have listened to here is the result of the whole life experiences and studies of the artist as mentioned above.

The new album of Egidio is instrumental and it is a release that shows the technical abilities of the guitarist and also where he likes to move musically. The compositions that are included here display a playful and experimental mood. Egidio combines in his compositions elements of rock, pop, jazz and blues. All these different elements are combined in a very natural way and give to the whole release the necessary variety that can keep the interest of the listener from the first till the last second.
“Me” is a release that has nothing to do with heavy metal music, but it is an album that has been done with love and also with a lot of effort from the artist and these are elements that anyone can appreciate.
