Για
τον BlazeBayley ο
λόγος και το σχήμα του πριν γίνει ευρέως γνωστότερος με το TheXFactor. Οι Wolfsbane ήταν παλιοί γνώριμοι αφού
στη περιοδεία του 1990-91 για το νερουλο NoPrayerForTheDying ήταν η μπάντα που άνοιγε για τους IronMaiden στη Βρετανία. Εδώ, το τρίτο αν δε κάνω
λάθος, άλμπουμ τους. Σύγχρονο HardandHeavy, μοντέρνο για τα δεδομένα των 90s και η γνώριμη βαρύτονη/bello φωνάρα του Blaze δίνει ρέστα. Τώρα τί ήθελε ο Harris να τον επιλέξει για ένα γκρουπ που το
90% των τραγουδιών του είναι γραμμένα υψίφωνα, αυτό μόνο το αφεντικό οSteve το ήξερε.
Η
αρχή του τέλους; Η κραυγαλέα εμπορικότητα; Η μαύρη μαυρίλα στη μακέτα του
εξωφύλλου με το γυάλινο λογότυπο τους διαγώνια για να μη φαίνεται ίσως
καλά;Το φιδάκι (ο Διαμαντής;) στη γωνία
κάτω; Όλα αυτά τα "κακά" σε έναν δίσκο διπλό, σε βινύλιο, που κάποιοι
άλλοι θα ονειρεύονται για πάντα! Και τί δεν είχαμε ακούσει από τότε κι ως το το
(τελικά όχι τόσο) τραγικό LOAD το grunge/rock/popCD που έβγαλαν μετά από πέντε έτη. Ό, τι
και να λέγεται μη μασάτε. Ένας απ' τους καλύτερους HeavyMetal δίσκους που έχει βγει πέρα απ' τον
Ατλαντικό είναι μπροστά στα μάτια σας. Ένα bestof τύπου άλμπουμ με τόσα πολλά
χαρακτηριστικά τους κομμάτια, που οι λέξεις χάνουν την ουσία τους. Enter Sandman, Sad But True, The Unforgiven, Wherever
I May Roam, Of Wolf And Man, Don't Tread On Me, Through The Never, The God That
Failed, The Struggle Within; Τι να πρώτοαναφέρεις;
DARK SOLSTICE" is a release that sheds a brighter
light on the future. With the Power Metal and Prog Metal influences, the
intention of this release is clear: prepare for better times, the long night
will soon be over and there will be so much more to experience!
Israeli Alternative Hard Rock band SAFFEK released
their new single «Loud» from the band's upcoming album. The release was
recorded/mixed by Yonatan Kossov, and mastered by Robin Schmidt. The video clip
was directed, filmed and edited by Arik Eicher.
SAFFEK was formed in 2016 at Haifa, Israel by Oren
Amitai. The band released 2 full length albums - Dissolve (2018) and All Too
Human (2020). After some lineup changes the current lineup consists of Oren
Amitai (Vocals/Guitar), Gil Meir (Guitar), April Mandil (Bass), Yonatan Irron
(Keyboard) and Jonathan Alter (Drums). On 28 June the band will open for
DISTURBED concert in Tel Aviv, and in July 2023 will perform at the Masters of
Rock festival in the Czech Republic.
The Lower Saxonian battlevest warriors release their
new album LEGACY OF THE SWORD, which highlights their established, heavier
style and influence from the Heavy Metal of the 80s with a massive dose of
typical teutonic anger.
Songs like "SOULSTEALER" revive the glory
days of the PAINKILLER era, while other tracks like "AD VICTORIAM"
and "BERSERK" encourage massive sing-along and headbanging.
TOMB OF GIANTS comment on "Soulstealer": "With
SOULSTEALER we represent the fearsome and relentless force of evil. SOULSTEALER
is a being from hell that brings chaos and destruction upon humanity. His
appearance and actions are accompanied by images of the apocalypse - darkness,
blood rain and destruction. The song is meant to show the consequences that
result when we give in to evil."
CATALYST, the emerging Belgian band, proudly unveils a
new track from their highly anticipated album ‘THE AGE OF ROCKETEERS’. The
latest musical work, titled "STICK TO THE PLAN", is a stormy and
vibrant war song that will take listeners on an intense and immersive journey.
The music was written by Philip, the Lead guitar
player, whereas the lyrics were inspired by Benjamin, the talented bassist and
secondary vocalist of the band, who delivers backing vocals with increased
conviction on the new album.
Benjamin shares his thoughts on the creation of the
song:
"The lyrics ultimately became a collaboration,
inspired by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. It sheds light on the question of
how much power one person can have in the face of the devastating consequences
of their decisions and the suffering it brings. The feeling of powerlessness,
solidarity, and incomprehension forms the foundation of this song.
Unfortunately, it remains a relevant topic, a conflict whose end we had long
hoped to see."

Italian Blackened Death Metal band FAMINE released
their new single «Patchwork». The release was recorded, mixed and mastered at
"Bedroom Studios" by Matteo Cavaggion.
FAMINE was formed as a one-man project in 2019 at
Vicenza, Italy by Matteo Cavaggion. The idea was to create a band that includes
every taste of Death Metal, with a retro sound that keeps the music away from
modern sounding records.In April 2023 the band released their debut demo EP
"Annihilate These Lambs"
On July 5, 2023, the debut full-length album from
Portuguese hard rock, rock, hard n' heavy en traditional heavy metal band
Coastwise will be released, called 'Hard Rock Is Back’.

μουσική είχε σε ένα βαθμό έμπνευση από τη Σκανδιναβική μυθολογία ήδη στα 80's, ο "αφεντικός" oTonyIommi ήταν σίγουρα ο τελευταίος που θα
περίμεναν όλοι τότε να ασχοληθεί με το θέμα. Μετά το πολύ καλό HeadlessCross (1989) και πάλι με τον TonyMartin στο μικρόφωνο για τρίτη φορά και τον CozyPowell (RIP) για δεύτερη στο σκαμπό των ντραμς, τον
NeilMurray σε μπάσο και τον GeoffNichols (RIP) πάντα στα πλήκτρα, το δοξασμένο όνομα
των BlackSabbath,
κυκλοφόρησε το ΤYR.
Στο άλμπουμ θα ακούσουμε άλλη μια φορά κομματαρες σαν τα TheLawMaker, Jerusalem, TheSabbathStones, Odin'sCourt/Valhalla, HeavenInBlack που θα ξεχωρίσουν. Ένα ακόμη
παραγνωρισμένο άλμπουμ των Sabs,
που οι γνωστοί θιασώτες του ΟΖΖΥ ή τίποτα δεν θέλουν να ξέρουν ότι υπάρχει!
Καλύτερα γιατί δεν τους αξίζει η ποιότητα του ΤΥR.
Αν
κάποιος θέλει να αρχίσει να τους ακούει, αυτό είναι μάλλον ή καλύτερη επιλογή
αφού είναι η χρυσή τομή ανάμεσα στο thrash/speed metal του παρελθόντος και το
heavy/groove metal των 90's. Το πέμπτο πλήρες άλμπουμ τους που περιέχει τα
κλασσικά Coma, New Machine, Blood Money, Thanx for Nothin', Horrorscope,
Infectious που είναι σχεδόν το 75% του άλμπουμ. Προφανώς από ένα από τα
καλύτερα πονήματα των πέντε εκ Νιου Τζέρσεϊ ορμώμενων της παρέας των Bobby
"Blitz" Elsworth, Rob Canavino, D. D. Verni, Merritt Gant και Sid
Falck.
Very first hearing this band and what a monument!I love the technical aspect that they put
into this album.It's totally
surreal.Every track on here is
good.I'm sure Archspire derived some
influence from this band in terms of harmonies and overall musicianship.The riffs really speak to the listener and
the vocals are just brutal.But not
over-the-top brutal.It suited the
direction they were taking to this release.I was blown away by the music on here.They really played from the heart with these songs.It isn't just one or two songs ok and that's
it.This whole album is phenomenal.The music is what just took it away with me.These guys knew what they were doing with the
recording.Such an amazing record and it
seems as though they're still active, but on hiatus unfortunately.

εδώ έθεσαν τα νέα θεμέλια τους. Αφού έπαιξαν ως κι electro παρακαλώ πέντε
χρόνια πριν, ο κόσμος που είχε ήδη δυσανασχετήσει με το One Second τη πρώτη
φορά, τους έφτυσε οριστικά το 2000. Έτσι, είδαν κι αποφάσισαν ότι δεν είχαν
πάρει σωστή πορεία. Εγκαίρως ευτυχώς. Τα Don't Belong, Forever After, Redshift,
Sun Fading, All You Leave Behind, Accept the Pain, Over The Madness δεν είναι
οι μόνες κομματαρες σε αυτό το δισκάκι!
Μετά
τα Rock City και Narita στα '70s η χρυσή δεκαετία μπήκε για τους heavy rockers
απ' τη Νέα Υόρκη με τούτο τον αδαμάντινο δίσκο. Η hard/heavy rock, υπό την
επιρροή της NWOBHM σκηνής, τους μεταλλαξε σε U.S. Heavy/Power Metal συγκρότημα.
Ο Mark Reale (RIP)γράφει κιθαριστικά
riffs ακόμη πιο καλά, τί καλά σχεδόν τέλεια μάλλον! Δυστυχώς είναι το τελευταίο
άλμπουμ για τον αρχικό τραγουδιστή τους τον Guy Speranza (RIP) και τα κλασσικά
άσματα σαν τα Swords and Tequila, Fire Down Under, Outlaw, Don't Bring Me Down,
Altar of the King, Run for Your Life (περιέργως κομμάτι με τον ίδιο τίτλο θα
υπάρχει και στο θρυλικό Thunder Steel τους του 1988, αλλά δεν έχει σχέση κι
ούτε είναι επανακτελεση!) παραμένουν διαχρονικά.
Οι
Ιταλοί φίλοι μας σίγουρα διεκδικούν τον τίτλο μιας από τις πιο πρωτότυπες
επιλογές ονόματος μπάντας. Σίγουρα, το όνομα παραπέμπει περισσότερο σε
ονοματοδοσία που θα επέλεγε κάποιο μυστικιστικό τάγμα εμπνεόμενο από τον
μυθολογικό κύκλο του Βασιλιά Αρθούρου κι όχι ένα συγκρότημα metalμουσικής.
Οπότε ναι τα πρώτα μου εύσημα πάνε για την επιλογή τους αυτή.
German Death Metal band ABSORB has announced that the
band guitarist Michael Koch has left the band. The band founder and guitarist
Pfisty commented the news "After 5 years of working together, playing many
shows and drinking many beers Michel has left the band. Take care bro and all
the best to you". The band current lineup is Volker (Vocals ), Pfisty
(Guitar), Huba (Bass) Jochen (Drums)
AFTERMATH states about "SLAVeABLE (We're Not Your
Animals)": "From slaves with chains to sex slaves or debt slaves,
slavery is a human concept. Invented by man against natural law. This song is
about freedom. We aren’t your animals."
Canadian Atmospheric Black Metal band KRAKEN MARE released
their debut album «Towards the World Beyond». The release was recorded, mixed
and mastered by the band in their home studio.
KRAKEN MARE was formed in 2017 in Vancouver, Canada by
James (Vocals, Guitars, Drums) and Emily (Vocals, Keyboards) who wanted to
create a new genre in Black Metal music describing it as “Cosmic Black Metal”,
because they like playing music about space with Black elements in it.
Έχουν γίνει συζητήσεις επί
συζητήσεων, έχουν γραφτεί αμέτρητα άρθρα κι επίσης πολλές φορές το χουμε
σκεφτεί και μόνοι μας το θέμα: τι είναι εκείνο που μας κάνει ν’ αγαπήσουμε μια
δισκογραφική δουλειά ή ένα έργο τέχνης. Σίγουρα το θέμα αυτό δεν επιδέχεται μιας
μόνο απάντησης κι αν το αναλύσεις πολύ θα αντιληφθείς ότι είναι σύνθετο, αλλά
από την άλλη η υπερανάλυση σκοτώνει την ευχαρίστηση. Προσωπικά, λοιπόν, έχω
διαπιστώσει ότι αυτό που με κάνει ν’ απολαύσω μια μουσική δουλειά είναι ο
ενθουσιασμός που αυτή έχει και πως καταφέρνει να στον μεταδώσει χωρίς να το
αντιληφθείς. Να σε κάνει, δηλαδή, να νιώθεις ότι αυτό που ακούς δεν το ακούς
για πρώτη φορά κι ότι είναι ένας δίσκος που θα ενταχθεί σ’ αυτούς που θα
ακούσεις στο μέλλον ξανά και ξανά.
This is actually my introduction to the band, so as
you can see I'm way behind in their discography.This one perked my ears up.And I'm in huge contrast to the average
scores giving this one a "D" rating.I thought that it was very interesting of a release.They flourished their black/thrash metal
throughout this recording.The riffs were
fresh, the production strong and the vocals are way better than tolerable.These guys know how to get it done
musically.The music itself really
impressed me.And the voice to the album
just went so well with the guitars and drums.There was a little echo effect with the voice which made it darker as an
album.
I thought all the songs were well constructed.Definitely a band that knows what their
doing.Leads were crystal clean and the
shred was totally there.The
mixing/recording had the music sounding a little darker than what they may have
wanted but overall a great record.
I realize that not everyone has access to Spotify or
YouTube to test this one out.It's
everything and more of a recording that's solid.I enjoyed this whole album entirely.The music just took over and I've been happy
to own this now, not just digital streaming.
These guys have a huge discography behind them.And it's good that they've come out with new
music and in no way lacks ingenuity.I
like this whole album and what it's done for me as a fan.It makes me want to own more of their
LP's.I will, but I just regret that I
didn't get into them sooner.I kind of
overlooked them hearing very little of their music then I broke through and
picked up 'Never Surrender' on CD.More
than happy with it.They flourish in the
genres coming together as one.It's a
little tricky putting black/thrash together and making it a solid release.But they're experienced so they know what
they're doing.
"Mirror's Edge" and "Rather Death"
are some songs that are highlights of the album.Not to mention the title-track.Look into this!
